Adding PHOTOs and Albums:
With our new website we have many new options and with that there are different ways to do things. One of these is our photo albums. We have noticed over the years since we started using facebook, the amount of comments and picture posting has dropped off. So, we will no longer have EVENT specific photo albums for you to add photos too or comment on. Instead, each member now has control over their own albums and how many albums they want to have. For instance, you can create an Album for the year “2018” and add photos to it from the events you attend with PHOTOG all that year. You can also have a “Portfolio” album and put only your best shots in it. The sky’s the limit on how you wish to maintain your albums and images within our new site. If you wish to have critique on an image or a discussion for that image, just post it to our facebook page or within our forum on the website asking your questions there.
Associate your image with a PHOTOG Event:
Our new site also has a key word/tagging system, with “master tags” available for you to use. So when attending an event just use the “master tag” for that event and simply add it to your photo when you upload. You can also create your own tags for your images so they are easily found and apply as many tags to your images as you want. ( example: Landscape, milky way, 2018 Black Mesa) . No pound sign though, we are not twitter. ;)
It is important that you fill in all the boxes when uploading photos, there is a caption, description, photographer, whether the image is visible to the public and “Tags”. The drop down box will carry basic master tags along with Event Master Tags. If it is an Event, add the appropriate tag for that image. Your Event Coordinator will let you know what the Master tag is for your event.
Now when viewing the albums on our site, you can choose how to view the albums and also search by a “master tag” to find images for specific events. This of course will make better sense when you go to upload a photo.
Go to your profile to create albums and upload photos. Your PROFILE is located under your name on the left hand side of page. View photo albums by going through the Member Menu and use the search function in the toolbar that scrolls the right side of our page.
